The Framework of a Frame...

I did some modifications to a picture frame today. Previously painted black, I used sandpaper to rub away most, but not all, of the layers of black paint. Now finished, the frame has a very nice aged and rustic vibe to it that I’m quite happy with.

That said, a frame is just a frame without something to frame, unless you plan on framing the frame….right? Right.

So, I started thinking about what I want to put in the frame. Being a photographer who takes photos he enjoys, I thought about framing something of my own. But, which photo? Doesn’t the photo need to match the frame? What if it doesn’t? Does it then not work inside the space I plan on hanging it in?

Now, I’m thinking about the purpose of the frame itself, which leads me to the point of this linguistic rambling. The frame exists so that the photo can stand by itself. The frame goes with the space, and the photo goes with itself. It doesn’t have to work with anything else.

DONE.

*This post was fairly pointless, but I haven’t posted anything on here in months so I thought, “Why the F not?” (….and I had no answer)

Dad bought him and I a new toy to play with in the desert. As of Easter, 2012, it will be parked in Yuma, AZ, and will be used a lot. Desert camping/off-roading/exploring/all-around good time having in the near future.

I Peed in Ann Arbor’s Water Supply | The Dead Schembechlers

Tomorrow is the big game. We might not have had the greatest season so far, but it’s never a bad year when you beat m*chigan. Tomorrow we go to the big house. Wolverines will be sacrificed to the Gods of Buckeyes Football. Woody Hayes will be watching, and probably rubbing every Buckeye touchdown in Bo Schembechler’s face. Bo might get pissed, but then he’ll be reminded of the time Woody punched a Clemson player in the face after he intercepted a Buckeyes pass. That won’t scare Bo, but it’ll shut him up for the time being.

I guess what I’m saying is… I love The Buckeyes, and I love to HATE the m*chigan wolverines. This is the greatest rivalry in American Sports, and I understand that without a great team on the other side of the ball, it wouldn’t be as continually important of a game as it has been for so many years….but seriously, f**k them.

The Ohio State University plays m*chigan(they don’t get the luxury of a full name or a capitalized letter) this weekend. It’s been almost 3,000 days since m*chigan beat The Ohio State University Buckeyes in football. As much as I ~~don’t like~~ despise m*chigan, I have the utmost respect for this the greatest rivalry in American sports.

In honor of this great rivalry I will be posting one song per day, until Saturday, by a band that dedicated their existence to writing songs about the unmentionables from up north. So, without further adieu, here’s The Dead Schembechlers with their lovely rendition of “I Wipe My Ass with Wolverine Fur”. Enjoy.
